KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is today celebrating 15 years of service at Aalborg Airport in Denmark. The first KLM flight landed in Aalborg in 2011, and since then, KLM has continued service to Denmark’s third largest airport.

On Friday (March 27, 2026), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines marked 15 years of service to and from Aalborg Airport. Since that time, the carrier has offered continuous service to Denmark’s third largest airport, connecting Aalborg resident to the world for the last 15 years. For summer 2026, KLM is offering service to 96 European destinations and 68 intercontinental destinations, making most of the world only one stopover away from Aalborg. In 2022, Aalborg Airport achieved recognition thanks to the award as the world's best lounge among KLM travellers, as well as the award as Denmark's best airport at the Danish Travel Awards, most recently in 2025.
In Friday’s announcement, Air France KLM’s General Manager – North Europe and CIS, Tom Verbugt, said
“In the 15 years we have flown to Aalborg, we have always had a really strong and open relationship with the professional team at Aalborg Airport. We are very grateful for all the support from Niels Hemmingsen and his team. Today, we celebrate this success together with our customers. Without them, it would not have been possible! At the KLM gate at Aalborg Airport, there is cake for everyone, and cava is served to all guests in the lounge in connection with the four KLM flights.”
Also commenting on the milestone anniversary, Aalborg Airport’s CEO, Niels Hemmingsen, added.
“The KLM route to Amsterdam has been of great importance to Aalborg Airport and the whole of North Jutland over the past 15 years. It is an international route that opens up travel to destinations all over the world and creates strong connections for both business and the many leisure travellers. The fact that almost 2.5 million passengers have travelled on the route during this period underlines its great value. At the same time, the anniversary is also an opportunity to highlight the good cooperation and strong relationship we have had with KLM through all these years.”
