Austrian Airlines Introduces Meal Pre-Ordering on all Short and Medium Flights Over 50 Minutes

Customers traveling with Austrian Airlines on all short and medium-haul flights over 50 minutes to/from Vienna can now pre-order meals from one month to 48 hours prior to departure. Guests can now pre-select their favorite dish from the Austrian Melangerie menu.

On Friday (November 11, 2022), Austrian Airlines announced the introduction of meal pre-ordering on all short and medium-haul flights over 50 minutes to/from Vienna. Economy Class guests can now select their favorite dish from the Austrian Melangerie menu from one month to 48 hours prior to departure. From a vegetarian wrap to Wiener Schnitzel or a hearty snack, the selection will then be delivered and guests than can pay cashless onboard. Like before, customers that don’t pre-order can still choose from a range of Austrian meals, snacks and beverages onboard.


In Friday’s announcement, Austrian Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, Michael, Trestl, said,


“With Austrian Melangerie Pre-Order we offer our passengers on short-haul and medium-haul flights an additional plus in service. At the same time, pre-ordering is an important step towards more sustainability and combating food waste due to enhanced planning.”
