On Tuesday (April 30, 2024), Wizz Air announced the launch of new service between Sofia and Heraklion starting June 24, 2024. The route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays with fares starting at BGN 50 (US $32.19). Located on the picturesque island of Crete, Heraklion is known for its ancient treasures, stunning landscapes, and warm Mediterranean hospitality. Visitors can stroll the enchanting lanes of the Old Town, which are lined with Venetian and Ottoman architecture, indulge in authentic local cuisine at traditional tavernas, or unwind on idyllic beaches.
