Wizz Air Reopens Base in Suceava, Romania

Wizz Air has announced the official reopening of their base in Suceava, Romania with two based Airbus A321neos and seven new routes across five countries.

On Monday (December 15, 2025), Wizz Air announced the reopening of their base in Suceava Romania, with two based Airbus A321neos, and seven new routes across five countries. As Romania’s largest airline, Wizz Air now operates a total of 41 aircraft in the country, with two more to be added in 2026. Starting this week, passengers can fly from Suceava to Bologna, Milan Bergamo, Venice, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Birmingham, Larnaca and Brussels Charleroi. In January, Wizz Air will also increase the frequency on its route to Dortmund, with four weekly flights. With the added services, Wizz Air now offers flights from Suceava on 13 routes to destinations in six countries.
Speaking at a press conference in Suceava on Monday, Wizz Air’s Managing Director, Mauro Peneda, said,
“We are delighted to mark this December with the reopening of our Suceava base, now fully operational and supported by state-of-the-art aircraft. With these additions, we are launching seven new routes from this wonderful city, expanding our local network to 13 routes across six countries. This moment is an important milestone in strengthening our presence in Suceava and reflects our continued commitment to expanding operations in Romania. It also supports our long-term ‘Customer First Compass’ strategy of offering ultra-low fares and an excellent service to an even broader range of European destinations. We are excited to welcome passengers on board, both on our newly introduced services and on our existing flights from the renewed Suceava base.”
