Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to Launch First Flight Between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv on April 18, 2021

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s newest airline, will launch inaugural service between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv on April 18, 2021. Since Israel has been added to Abu Dhabi’s ‘Green Country’ list, inbound customers from Tel Aviv will not have to quarantine.

On Tuesday (April 6, 2021), Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s newest carrier, announced the launch of inaugural service between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv starting April 18, 2021. The airline will operate three weekly flights in April and increase the route frequency to daily service in May. Israel has been added to Abu Dhabi’s “Green Country” list so inbound guests will not be required to quarantine. Entry to Abu Dhabi is open to travelers from countries with green status who also hold a visa to any of the Emirates.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s Managing Director, Kees Van Schick, said,


“In light of the recently eased restrictions, I’m delighted to announce the date of the first WIZZ flight from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv later this month. The connection between the two cities is a historic moment – the link between the UAE and Israel will further contribute to the tourism sector and help to diversify the local economy, while bringing new low-fare business and leisure opportunities for travelers.”

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s young fleet includes four brand-new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neos, which offer a reduced fuel burn, emissions and noise footprint.


Budapest, Hungary-based Wizz Air serves 151 destinations across 44 countries and operates an all Airbus fleet of 120 A320 and A320neo Family aircraft, with an average age of 4.7 years. The company has the largest order book for 268 A320neo Family aircraft which will enable the company to reduce its environmental footprint by 30 percent by 2030. Wizz Air is the largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in Central and Eastern Europe offering 710 routes from 41 bases. During FY 20 (ending March 31, 2020) the airline served approximately 40 million guests. Wizz Air offers superior guest service at exceptionally low fares and is an investment-grade credit rated airline which trades on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WIZZ.
