On Thursday (April 24, 2024), Brussels Airlines unveiled the newest Belgian Icon livery ‘Amare.’  In partnership with the Tomorrowland music festival, ‘Amare’ represents unity for people worldwide and features augmented reality, a world-first.  During a special event in Brussels Airlines’ Maintenance and Engineering hangar, the novel livery was revealed to the media, guests and team members.  The bespoke livery demonstrates the ‘Belgitude’ of Brussels Airlines, where the carrier brings the world to Belgium, and the best of Belgium to the world.  Amare, registration OO-SBB, is Brussels Airlines’ second brand new A320neo, and joined the carrier’s fleet in December 2023.

At Thursday’s unveiling ceremony, Brussels Airlines’ CEO, Dorothea von Boxberg, said,

“Brussels Airlines has been a proud partner of Tomorrowland since 2012 and I am happy to announce that we will extend this partnership until 2028.  We have many things in common such as the passion to explore the world and connecting cultures, but also the awareness of our environmental footprint and our willingness to take the necessary steps to reduce our impact.  These shared values make this partnership such a success.”

The new Amare livery it the first to feature augmented reality, as the bird comes to life when scanned through specific social media channels such as Instagram.  This provides the first augmented storytelling behind the world-famous magical creature Amare, which represents unity, and the transcendence of time and space.  The complete livery design process took some 15 months, with great attention having been paid to the details, from the bird’s feathers, to the sparkles of the fireworks turning into the Brussels Airlines’ logo.  Naturally, the Tomorrowland experience continues inside the A320neo, where guests will enjoy the impressive sound system and special lighting.

Not only will Amare be bringing festivalgoers to Tomorrowland, but it will be operating commercial flights from April 26, 2024, with inaugural service to Tenerife under flight number SN3781.
