Guests traveling from Calgary will enjoy nonstop service to 61 destinations including 30 domestic, 19 transborder and 12 international destinations. From Winnipeg, the carrier will offer nonstop service to Cancun, Orlando and Regina, while WestJet will also offer service between Edmonton and Honolulu. Finally, the airline will operate three weekly return flights between Kelowna and Toronto from December 17, 2021 through January 5, 2022.

In Monday’s announcement, WestJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, John Weatherill, said,

“As Canadians confidence in travel grows, the return of service to 95 destinations marks a major milestone in rebuilding our network to pre-pandemic levels. We have our sights set on restoring our global network to reach more than 100 destinations and continue to focus on alleviating the current travel barriers in place for our guests. These investments demonstrate our commitment to restoring routes and connectivity to communities across Canada. Travel advisories are evolving in real-time and it is critical that policies implemented prior to the widespread availability of vaccines are recalibrated to accelerate Canada's economic recovery and to reflect the new fully-vaccinated travel journey.”

Celebrating 25 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent. The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to 100 destinations in 23 countries (pre-pandemic). Even during these unprecedented times, the carrier has maintained their rating by Cirium as one of the top ten airlines for on-time performance in North America.
