Also commenting on today’s announcement, Calgary Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Bob Sartor added,

"WestJet continues to invest in YYC Calgary International Airport as its home base and expansion focus. It is Calgary’s largest carrier and we are committed to facilitating their growth. These additional flights will serve more guests bound for more destinations, delivering recreational and business opportunities for our region.”

Dawson’s Creek is the carrier’s 72nd destination out of Calgary and by June 2020 WestJet will operate over 1,000 weekly peak-season flights out of Calgary International Airport. Further commenting on the new Dawson Creek route, Mr. Von zur Muehlen stated,

“Providing the opportunity for convenient travel into and out of Calgary will help strengthen Dawson Creek’s already vibrant oil and gas, agriculture and tourism industries, many of which have links to Calgary and beyond. The value of connecting people, markets and communities is immeasurable and we look forward to bringing Canada’s favourite airline to the city this April.”
