WestJet Adds Three New Direct Routes From Halifax to Three Canadian Cities for Summer 2025

This summer, WestJet will strengthen their domestic schedule with new nonstop service Between Halifax Stanfield International Airport and three Canadian cities.  This includes new nonstop service to Saskatoon and Regina, and returning service to Vancouver.

On Tuesday (April 22, 2025), WestJet announced the launch of three new routes from Halifax for summer 2025.  The carrier will launch new direct service from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to Saskatoon and Regina, and will also resume service between Halifax and Vancouver.  Additionally, new flights has been added between Winnipeg and St. John’s, as well as between Calgary and Deer Lake, as part of WestJet’s extensive summer 2025 schedule.


In Tuesday’s announcement, WestJet’s EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, John Weatherill, said,   


“These routes bring greater choice to our guests across the country and make it easier for Canadians to access our expanding transatlantic network from Halifax and St. John’s.  As demand for summer travel continues to evolve, we are focused on flying people where they want to go, whether it’s reuniting with loved ones in the prairies, exploring new sights in the Maritimes or seamlessly connecting to Europe.”

With 28 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent.  The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to nearly 200 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 100 destinations across North America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
