Volotea to Open 8th French Base at Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport

Volotea will open their eighth French base at Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport on July 1st, 2022 with five exclusive routes including service to Paris-Orly, Strasbourg, Naples, Palermo and Venice. The carrier will base one Airbus A319 at the airport and create over 30 jobs.

On Thursday (June 2, 2022), Volotea announced that they will open their 8th base in France at Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport on July 1st, with one Airbus A319 and five exclusive routes including service to Paris-Orly, Strasbourg, Naples, Palermo and Venice. The carrier also operates bases in Nantes, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Marseille, Lyon and Lille. The new Lourdes base will create over 30 direct jobs for flight crews and 25 indirect jobs. From July 1st, service to Paris-Orly will operate twice daily in the mornings and evenings, while flights to Strasbourg will operate two times per week (Mondays and Fridays). Starting July 2nd, Volotea will offer two weekly flights to Naples (Wednesdays and Saturdays) and Palermo (Tuesdays and Saturdays), while twice weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays between Lourdes and Venice will commence on July 3, 2022.

In Thursday’s announcment, Volotea’s Founder and CEO, Carlos Munoz, said,


“At a time when we are witnessing the strong return of travel, we feel enormously proud of announcing the launch of our new base at Lourdes airport, our 8th base in France. We are especially happy to inaugurate the Lourdes-Paris Orly route and to be able to ensure the continuity of connectivity with Paris this summer. We also see great opportunities for growth in the region, and we are additionally offering 4 new exclusive flights for the summer season from Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees, with direct connections to Strasbourg and Italy.”
