On Thursday (August 27, 2020), Vistara rolled out a new Yoga inspired onboard safety video filmed outside across India. The video, which combines the necessary safety instructions with various Yoga “asanas” or postures, will be featured on their newly delivered Airbus A321neo and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The goal of the new video is to capture the attention of guests, while taking them on journey across India, showcasing the best of the country as a travel destination. Filmed over 14 days in four Indian states and a Union territory, the video features a senior member of Vistara’s cabin crew, who is also a certified Yoga instructor. The video starts in sub-zero temperatures up north in Ladakh and inside the Chemrey Monastery. Next, filming moves down south to the scenic Kannur beach and on to the historic remnants of Hampi in Karnataka. Moving east, the video features the extraordinary Dawki river, followed by dramatic culmination at the grand cliffs of Malshej in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. In Yesterday’s announcement, Vistara’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vinod Kannan said,

“There was no better way to show Vistara’s Indian roots and its global, contemporary outlook than this. Yoga is one of India’s greatest gifts to the world, practiced by hundreds of millions of people, and our country’s diverse landscape continues to surprise natives and visitors alike. The video combines both these aspects with important safety briefing to help travellers remain not just safe, but also arrive feeling fresh at their destinations. Safety instructions do not necessarily have to be monotonous, and our intent with this video is to grab the attention of even the most frequent flyers.”

The new safety video was produced in collaboration with Vistara’s creative agency partners, FCB India and will be played in Hindi and English. Also commenting on the new video, FCB’s national creative director, Surjo Dutt added,

“Most safety instructions videos go unnoticed, playing in the background on our flights. But this one keeps you hooked from the very beginning. The essence of India – Yoga, clubbed with the awe-inspiring offbeat Indian destinations, wrap the life-saving safety briefing in the fabric of Incredible India. It gives the passengers something unprecedented to watch.”
