Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer loyalty program has partnered with 7-Eleven to reward members with Velocity points for fuel and eligible convenience purchases. To celebrate the partnership a competition has been launched to win seats on a special flight.
On Thursday (May 27, 2021), Virgin Australia announced that their Velocity Frequent Flyer program has teamed with 7-Eleven to reward members with Velocity Points for everyday fuel and eligible convenience purchases. To celebrate the new partnership, Velocity Frequent Flyer and 7-Eleven have launched a national competition giving members a chance to win seats on Virgin Australia flight VA711 on June 29, 2021. The special flight will travel on a mystery path which will be revealed soon. With more than 700 stores located across Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and Western Australia, 7-Eleven is Australia’s largest independent fuel and convenience retailer.
Speaking at a special launch event at ‘The Domain’ in Sydney on Thursday, Virgin Australia Group’s CEO and Managing Director, Jayne Hrdlicka, said,

We promised our members that we would deliver even more opportunities for them to earn Velocity Points for spending on everyday activities and today we’ve delivered on that promise. 7-Eleven is Australia’s largest independent fuel and convenience retailer with over 700 outlets across Australia, so whether our members are shopping at a city convenience store or filling-up their cars with fuel, 7-Eleven’s strong presence and great in-store experience will give Velocity members more opportunities to boost their Points balances, to fly. We’re focused on providing Velocity members value by delivering some fantastic rewards as well as continually looking at how we can bring new engaging benefits to our members. Velocity Frequent Flyer members will earn 2 points per $1 spent on eligible 7-Eleven instore purchases, 2 points per liter on premium fuel and 1 point per liter on regular fuel. Additionally, Velocity members will earn 711 Bonus Points on their first eligible 7-Eleven purchase made by June 28, 2021. To start earning points at 7-Eleven customer should: 1) Join Velocity Frequent Flyer, 2) Download the My 7-Eleven app and link their Velocity account, and 3) make an eligible purchase at 7-Eleven, and upon payment, scan their Velocity-linked ‘My 7-Eleven My Card.’ Starting with Western Australia, point of sale Velocity card readers will be gradually installed at all 7-Eleven stores so members can simply scan their physical card or My Velocity Digital Card.
As previously mentioned, Velocity Frequent Flyer members will have a chance to win two seats on the maiden flight of Virgin Australia VA711 departing Sydney Airport on June 29, 2021. The flight will travel along an iconic 7-Eleven flight path that will be revealed soon. Twenty-five lucky members who follow the steps linking their Velocity Frequent Flyer account with the My 7-Eleven app by midnight AEST on June 2, 20121 will be automatically entered. Each of the prizes include return flights to Sydney (if required) from the winners’ closest capital city airport.
