From March 2025, Virgin Atlantic will launch new service between London Heathrow and Riyadh, Arabia, as well as flights to Accra in Ghana for the first time since 2013 from May 2025. The carrier also recently announced Plans to return to Toronto, Canada.
On Monday (September 2, 2024), Virgin Atlantic announced the launch of two new routes for summer 2025 including service to Riyadh, Saudia Arabia and Accra, Ghana. Service between London Heathrow and Riyadh will start in March 2025, while Accra flights will commence in May 2025. This is in addition to recently announced service to Toronto, the carrier’s first Canadian route in a decade. Flights to Riyadh and Accra will be available for booking from September 12, 2024.
In Monday’s announcement, Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juha Jarvinen, said,
“Riyadh and Accra join Toronto as new routes for summer flying in 2025 and we see huge opportunities to connect friends, relatives and businesses with our new services. We’re also delighted to build on our codeshare with SkyTeam partner Saudia, further strengthening connectivity in the region, and beyond, and bringing new benefits to our loyal customers.
“We look forward to launching these new routes in 2025, introducing the iconic, inclusive Virgin Atlantic brand, award-winning experience and our amazing people to new customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ghana and Toronto.”
Inbound customers from Riyadh to London Heathrow will also enjoy seamless one-stop connections to 12 destinations across the Virgin Atlantic and Delta networks in North America, including Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, Boston and Detroit. Riyadh flights will operate daily with an Airbus A330neo starting March 30, 2025, while flights to Accra will operate daily from May 1st, 2025 with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, featuring Upper Class, Premium, Economy Delight, Classic and Light cabins. As previously announced, the carrier will also resume service between London Heathrow and Toronto Pearson on March 30, 2025 with a mix of aircraft, including the A330neo.
