On Tuesday (July 8, 2025), Virgin Atlantic announced that they will become the first UK carrier to introduce Starlink inflight Wi-Fi inflight connectivity fleetwide.  Installation of the premium streaming-quality Wi-Fi will start on the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Airbus A350s, and A330neos from Q3 2026, with the installation expected to be completed fleetwide by year-end 2027.  Starlink offers high-speed, low-latency internet access around the world, including the most remote areas, offering a fast, and secure user experience.  Virgin Australia will offer the Wi-Fi service entirely free of charge for Flying Club members.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Experience Officer, Siobhan Fitzpatrick, said,

“We never stop innovating for our guests and today, in a first for any UK airline, we’ll soon have free, streaming quality, unlimited, fleet-wide Wi-Fi.  Together with Starlink, we are delighted to provide our guests with the best connectivity in the skies, further elevating our onboard experience.  The new service allows our guests to create a home away from home experience, allowing customers to connect seamlessly, from the moment they board the aircraft, enjoying the same quality in the air as they do on the ground.”

In July 2024, Virgin Atlantic confirmed an order for seven A330-900neos, completing their $17 billion fleet transformation program. By 2028, the airline will operate a mixed fleet of 45 next-generation aircraft, including 19 A330-900s, 12 A350-1000s, and 14 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

Founded by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson in 1984, Virgin Atlantic has brought innovation and the highest level of customer care to the airline industry.  The carrier was voted Britain’s only Global Five Star Airline by APEX in 2024 for the eighth consecutive year.  Headquartered in London, Virgin Atlantic employs over 8,500 team members worldwide.  The airline currently serves 28 destinations across four continents.  Alongside shareholder and Joint Venture partner Delta Air Lines, Virgin Atlantic operates a leading network between the US and UK, with onward connections to over 200 cities around the world.  Virgin Atlantic is a member of the global SkyTeam alliance.
