Virgin Atlantic and IndiGo have launched a new codeshare partnership which will provide enhanced seamless connectivity between the UK and India. Virgin Atlantic customers can fly from London Heathrow to Delhi or Mumbai and connect to seven domestic destinations.
On Wednesday (August 31, 2022), Virgin Atlantic announced the launch of a new codeshare partnership with IndiGo which will provide enhanced seamless connectivity between the UK and India. Under the agreement, Virgin Atlantic customers can now book tickets from London Heathrow to Delhi or Mumbai and enjoy connectivity to and from seven domestic destinations in India, increasing to 16 cities later this year. Additionally, IndiGo customers will enjoy enhanced connectivity with Virgin Atlantic via Heathrow to the carrier’s extensive U.S. network. The initial codeshare destinations in India include Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, Delhi and Mumbai, while future destinations will include Kochi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Vadodara, Indore and Visakhapatnam. Codeshare flights are available for booking this week for travel from September 27, 2022.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juha Jarvinen, said,

IndiGo is India’s largest airline and its extensive network will offer Virgin Atlantic customers even more choice when travelling between the UK and India, as well as offering seamless connections for the onward travel across our extensive US route network.
“It’s great news for our Flying Club too, by providing more opportunities for members to earn valuable points. This new partnership aims to respond to the large, fast-growing demand for visiting friends & relatives, leisure as well as business travellers looking for more choice between UK and India.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare agreement, IndiGo’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ronojoy Dutta, added,
