United Airlines to Resume Service Between Houston and Caracas, Venezuela

United Airlines has today announced the restart of daily service between Houston and Caracas, Venezuela starting August 11, 2026. The route will be operated with a Boeing 737-8 MAX airplane.

On Tuesday (May 12, 2026), United Airlines announced that they will resume nonstop daily flights between their hub at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas starting August 11, 2026. The route will be operated with a Boeing 737-8 MAX, featuring seatback screens at every seat with Bluetooth connectivity and the latest entertainment offerings from leading streaming services like Apple TV, HBO Max, Spotify and Peacock, room for everyone’s carry-on bag, and soon Starlink Wi-Fi. United offered flights between the U.S. and Venezuela for over 20 years before suspending service in June 2017.
In Tuesday’s announcement, United Airlines’ SVP – Global Network Planning and Alliances, Patrick Quayle, said,
“After nearly a decade, United welcomes the opportunity to resume service between Houston and Venezuela thanks to the leadership and support of the Department of Transportation and the U.S. government. This flight will help strengthen cultural and economic ties across the Americas and further reinforces United's Houston hub as a leading gateway to the region.”

Currently, United offers up to 100 daily flights to over 50 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean from Houston, and travelers can connect from Houston to more than 180 destinations around the world. This year, United will open the most modern airport terminal in the country in Houston. The $2 billion Terminal B transformation will deliver 22 new mainline gates and the largest United Club in the airline’s system.
