United Airlines has introduced three new promotions that allow eligible MileagePlus Premier members to “Pick Your Path” to fast track their Premier status or earn bonus miles. The promotion will run from April 29th through July 27, 2021.
On Thursday (April 29, 2021), United Airlines announced the introduction of three new promotions that allow eligible MileagePlus Premier members to fast track their Premier status or earn bonus miles. A ‘Welcome-back Bonus’ promotion rewards members with deposits of bonus Premier Qualifying Points (PQPs) for their first three trips, while the ‘Easy PQP’ offer provides members with a PQP deposit without requiring travel. The third option allows members to earn double miles through the MileagePlus X app. The promotions will run from April 29, 2021 through July 27, 2021.
In Thursday’s announcement, United’s Vice President of Marketing and Loyalty and President of MileagePlus, Luc Bondar, said,
“While demand for travel is steadily increasing, we recognize that different customers are beginning to return to travel at different times. Offering three separate promotions allows us to meet our Premier members where they are and gives our members the opportunity to select an offer that is meaningful to them whether they're ready to travel now or if they'd rather receive miles to save for a trip later on.”
The Welcome-back Bonus PQP offer allows eligible Premier members to earn up to 25 percent of PQPs required for their current status level, which combines with the 25 percent PQP deposit United have members at the start of the year . Members who choose this option can earn half of the PQP-only requirement to requalify for their status level. Premier members who don’t plan to travel before July 17th can choose a 10 percent deposit of the outright PQP requirement for their current status level with the Easy PQP option. With this option, members will automatically receive between 350 and 1,500 PQPs depending on status.
Finally, eligible U.S.-based Premier members can earn double miles (up to 10,000), on all transactions made with the MileagePlus X app. The app allows members to earn miles through the purchase of eGift cards, online shopping or by dining at participating restaurants. To qualify for the offers, members must have held Premier status on April 19, 2021. Members have until May 13, 2021 to select their promotion option or they will automatically be enrolled in the Welcome-Back PQP offer. Eligible Premier members can sign into the MileagePlus X app or click here to make their selection.
