On Monday, United Airlines announced that starting this month, customers traveling between the US and Tel Aviv will enjoy more choices with an expanded Kosher menu. A variety of new options will be available for guests departing United’s New York-Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO) and Washington-Dulles (IAD) hubs. As part of the carrier’s commitment to elevate the travel experience for guests, United will include exciting menu additions featuring the leading Kosher food and beverage brands. In Monday’s announcement, United Airlines’ Vice President of Catering Operations, Charlean Gmunder said,

“We are thrilled to expand our already high-quality Kosher culinary choices to include new options we know our customers will love. We know our customers and listen to their feedback and all these new menu items – from savory new snacks to wonderful wines – are the result of our on-going efforts to exceed customer expectations. We will continue to embrace suggestions as well as seek out ways to create the best possible onboard dining experience for everyone we proudly serve.”

For flights departing Newark for Tel Aviv, guests will enjoy an entirely new menu, created in partnership with New Jersey-based fresh food provider Fresko. Menu options will include favorites such as fresh bagels, a cheese omelet, blintzes, chicken marsala, a kale quinoa burger and traditional baked goods such as rugelach and black and white cookies. United is also testing a child’s Kosher meal on flights to Tel Aviv from EWR and SFO. If the airline’s youngest guests approve, the meal option will be rolled out on additional Tel Aviv routes. Customers traveling in Polaris and Premium Economy will also enjoy an expanded selection of mid-flight Kosher snacks including Deep River Potato Chips, Cheez-it® crackers, Drizzilicious Cinnamon Swirl Crisps, Madi K’s Almonds and M&M’s.

The new offering also includes Kosher beverage options with wine provided by Royal Wine of New Jersey. In Polaris, guests will enjoy Royal Wine’s Herzog Lineage Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc selections. The carrier will also expand their Kosher Illy coffee offering over the next few months by including both regular and decaf options. United’s Kosher offer expansion will also include new airport lounge options as well. Currently, the airline is testing the addition of a new hot Kosher á la carte meal option at Newark’s Polaris Lounge. While Kosher wines are already offered, United will also serve Kosher packaged snacks upon request at the Polaris Lounge And United Clubs in Newark and LaGuardia.
