United Airlines Appoints Maria Deacon as Senior Vice President of Technical Operations

United Airlines has today named Maria Deacon as SVP of Technical Operations, where she will oversee the carrier’s maintenance operations, GSE and facilities maintenance, supply chain, technical services, planning and strategy.

On Thursday (December 1, 2022), United Airlines announced the appointment of Maria Deacon as Senior Vice President of Technical Operations. In her new role, Ms. Deacon will oversee the carrier’s maintenance operations, ground service equipment (GSE) and facilities maintenance, supply chain, technical services, planning and strategy. Deacon will also be responsible for shaping the growth and investment in United’s Calibrate apprenticeship program, paving the way for the next generation of maintenance team members. Maria Deacon most recently served as GE Aerospace’s General Manager of maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO). In her new role, Ms. Deacon will report to United’s EVP and Chief Growth Officer, Greg Hart.

While leading GE Aerospace’s extended MRO network, Deacon was responsible for delivering revenue across over two dozen global GE and partner sites worldwide. Additionally, as General Manager of CFM Services at GE, she managed the financial aspects of the largest in-service fleet in commercial aviation, and the joint venture for all CFM and LEAP engine services. As General Manager of Supply Chain at GE, Ms. Deacon also led the ramp-up of critical helicopter, fighter jet engines and spare parts for U.S. military operations.
