On Wednesday (September 1, 2021), TAP Air Portugal announced that they will add 91 more weekly flights to their winter 2021/2022 season schedule compared to their peak summer 2021 schedule, expanding their winter offer to 941 weekly return flights. The carrier will operate 101 weekly flights from Porto, with direct connections to Lisbon, Funchal, London, Paris, Zurich, Geneva, New York, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. From Madeira, TAP will offer 49 weekly flights to Lisbon and Porto, while Ponta Delgada will have fifteen weekly flights to Lisbon and Terceira. The carrier will also offer 21 weekly flights between Faro and Lisbon.

For the winter 2021/22 season, TAP will connect Portugal to 37 European cities with 585 return trips weekly, as well as 93 weekly return flights to 15 destinations in Africa and the Middle East. The airline will also restore all pre-pandemic routes to North America with a total of 59 weekly flights to 11 destinations including Boston, Newark (from both Lisbon and Porto), Washington D.C., New York-JFK, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Montreal, Toronto and Cancun. TAP will also offer 52 weekly flights on 12 routes to Brazil, as well as one weekly flight to Venezuela. Finally, as previously announced, the airline will launch three weekly flights between Lisbon and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for the winter 2021/22 season.

As TAP ramps up their schedule for winter, they are also reinforcing their role in promoting inbound tourism to Portugal. This includes robust schedules for the Christmas and New Year holidays, so Portuguese communities can reunite with their families from around the world.
