On Tuesday (July 29, 2025), SWISS International Air Lines (SWISS) unveiled their new First and Business Class seats, part of the ‘Swiss Senses’ cabin concept, in a presentation at Zurich Airport.  The new seats will enter service together with the company’s brand-new Airbus A350-900s from fall 2025.  SWISS Senses represents the largest onboard product investment in the airline’s history.  From winter 2025, the first SWISS long-haul destination to be serviced by the carrier’s new A350-900 will be Boston.  All of SWISS’ new Airbus A350-900s will be delivered with the new SWISS Senses cabin, which will also gradually be rolled out to the carrier’s existing Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300ER fleets.

Speaking at Tuesday’s event at the airline’s Operation Center at Zurich Airport, SWISS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Heike Birlenbach, said,

“I am delighted that, with the arrival of our new Airbus A350s, we will be able to offer our customers an even more personal, exclusive and individual air travel experience.  As a premium airline, we aim to continue to deliver on our quality promise through our SWISS Senses concept.  Our new seats are the centerpiece of our new aircraft cabins. But SWISS Senses appeals to all the senses – with its special lighting concept, for instance, and also with our new scent that has been specially created for SWISS. All in all, SWISS Senses represents the biggest product investment in the history of our company – and a further major milestone for Swiss aviation.”

SWISS expects to take delivery of the first of their new Airbus A350-900s this October.  The first intercontinental destination with the new aircraft will be Boston, with flights now bookable for travel from January 1, 2025.  Following delivery, SWISS’ first A350-900 will initially be deployed on European routes.  This will also be the first aircraft in the SWISS long-haul fleet to be equipped with the new SWISS Senses cabin, which represents a total redesign of the entire aircraft cabin.  Featuring a timeless color scheme and the highest-quality materials, the SWISS Senses cabin conveys a sense of coziness and comfort.  The SWISS First cabin and parts of SWISS Business also feature the first-ever use of suite seating arrangements.

The new SWISS First suites offer total privacy with closable sliding doors, a spacious personal wardrobe, a large seat table, seat heating and cooling, a wireless charging station and a screen display that is as wide as the suite itself.  The center suite in the cabin can also be configured to accommodate two people traveling together.  Additionally, a spacious new washroom has been developed for the new SWISS First cabin.  The lavatory draws its inspiration from the famous spring in Vals in Canton Graubünden, and features a slate-black exterior, and a green interior – a nod to the spring’s fresh and cooling water.

In addition to ‘classic’ Business Class seats, SWISS’ completely redesigned Business Class cabin offers further seating options.  Select seats can also be closed off with a sliding door to provide additional privacy.  All seats are designed to convert into a fully lie-flat bed with a length of 2.0 to 2.2 meters, and feature seat heating and cooling, as well as a wireless charging station.

SWISS’ popular Premium Economy Class, featuring greater seat comfort and superior cabin service, will remain an integral feature within the new SWISS Senses air travel experience.

Economy Class travelers can also look forward to enhancements, including comfortable new seats that are highly functional and offer considerably more at-seat space.  Additionally, each seat features an over 13-inch high-resolution screen, a Bluetooth connection for the customer’s own headphones, and USB ports.
