On Wednesday (October 25, 2023), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced the launch of first-ever service between Zurich (ZRH) and Rotterdam (RTM) in the Netherlands. The route will operate six times weekly from January 22, 2024. Upon arrival in Rotterdam after the short 1.5 hour flight, travelers can easily access the city center in around 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by public transportation, depending on traffic. Rotterdam is the Netherlands’ second-largest city and home to one of the largest ports in the world. The city is known for its skyline with iconic structures such as the Erasmus Bridge and the Cube Houses, as well as a lively arts scene and world-class museums such as the Boijmans Van Beuningen. Rotterdam also offers a wide range of shopping and lively nightlife options.
In Wednesday’s route announcement, SWISS’ Head of Network management, Benedikt Ascher, said,
“As The Airline of Switzerland, we see it as our mission to provide our customers with an extensive network of attractive air services, and to steadily further develop and refine this in response to their needs. This is what we are constantly striving to do, with all our dedication and energies. And we’re delighted that, in Rotterdam, we will now be adding a further destination to our network that is well worth visiting in every respect.”
SWISS’s new Zurich-Rotterdam service complements the carrier’s existing service to Amsterdam. Flights to Rotterdam are now available for booking on the SWISS website and all other booking channels.
