‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ Features St. Gallen Gourmet Specialties from the Neue Blumenau

As the latest edition of SWISS’ popular ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ inflight culinary program, First and Business Class guests can now enjoy gourmet fare from Canton St. Gallen.

On Wednesday (March 1st, 2023), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced the launch of the latest edition of their popular ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ inflight culinary program. SWISS First and Business Class guests can now enjoy a gourmet menu from Canton St. Gallen. For the next three months, guests will enjoy meals created by Chef Bernadette Lisibach, Michelin-starred Executive Chef of the renowned Neue Blumenau restaurant in the village of Lömmenschwil. Premium Economy Class guests will also enjoy a three-course meal, inspired by Canton St. Gallen specialties.


In Wednesday’s announcement, SWISS’ Head of Brand Experience, Julia Hillenbrand, said,


“The gourmet creations of Bernadette Lisibach are a byword for a sound and simple approach, sheer enjoyment and quality of the highest order. It’s a combination that is an excellent fit with our company. And I’m delighted that our inflight guests can now sample her skills and gain a taste of the culinary offerings of Canton St. Gallen.”


Also commenting on the culinary collaboration, Chef Bernadette Lisibach, added,


“My creations have never been served at such altitudes before, but I’m pleased and privileged to have this unique opportunity to work together with SWISS to put a little piece of Switzerland on the plates of so many people from all over the globe.”

Over the past eleven years, Bernadette Lisibach has been delighting the patrons of Neue Blumenau with her traditional, yet freshly-interpreted cuisine. The award-winning chef has received the GaultMillau 2015 Chef of the Year award, her first Michelin star in 2019, and 17 GaultMillau points. For the latest edition of ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’, she has put a stronger focus on Canton St. Gallen, with the goal of further acquainting SWISS’ premium long-haul travelers from Zurich with Switzerland’s vast culinary variety. Launched in 2002, SWISS’s award-winning ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ inflight culinary program has been inviting a new top chef from a selected Swiss canton aboard every three months, to present and share Switzerland’s gastronomic diversity aloft. The meals are also accompanied by wine and cheese specialties from the featured region. To date, SWISS taste of Switzerland has welcomed 77 guest chefs representing each of Switzerland’s 26 cantons.
