In addition to their regular inflight entertainment program, SWISS will be offering guests a selection of 13 documentary films by filmmakers from around the world this December and January. The Flying Film Festival will be featured on all long-haul flights in all classes.
On Wednesday (November 24, 2021), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), announced the launch of their fourth ‘Flying Film Festival’. The added content is in addition to the carrier’s regular inflight entertainment (IFE) programming and features 13 documentary films by filmmakers from around the world. The Flying Film Festival will be available on all long-haul flights in all three seating classes from December 1st, 2021 through January 31st, 2022. The program was launched in 2015 in partnership with filmmakers Francesca Scalisi and Mark Olexa, and has since been held every two years. The goal of the festival is to support young and talented directors from all over the globe by presenting their works to a broader audience.
The fourth edition of the Flying Film Festival showcases a varied selection of 13 short films from Argentina, Canada, Finland, France, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, the Netherlands, Qatar, Russia, South Korea, the UK and the US. At the end of the festival, a jury will bestow two awards, the ‘Golden Wings’ and ‘Silver Wings’ for the two best films. The jury for the fourth edition of the festival includes Ruth Baettig, a freelance artist, and member of the selection committee of the Semaine de la Critique of Locarno; Chantal Molleur, founder, director and curator of White Frame and Antoine Multone, Head of Antenna Couleur 3 at Radio Télévision Suisse.
