In the latest chapter of the carrier’s popular ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ inflight culinary program, SWISS First and Business Class guests can now enjoy exclusive menu creations designed in collaboration with After Seven restaurant in Zermatt.
On Wednesday (November 30, 2022), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) launched the latest chapter of their popular ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ onboard culinary program. In the latest chapter, SWISS First and Business Class guests will enjoy exclusive menu creations designed in collaboration with high-end ‘After Seven’ restaurant in Zermatt (Canton Valais). The Michelin-starred restaurant is part of the Backstage Hotel, which is made up of 20 luxury chalets and apartments set against the breathtaking Matterhorn.
After Seven is operated under the leadership of Managing Director and Executive Chef Florian Neubauer, the youngest chef in Europe to earn two Michelin stars, and current holder of 32 GaultMillau points. Over the next three months, premium guests traveling on SWISS long-haul flights departing Zurich will enjoy Chef Neubauer’s creations featuring Canton
In Wednesday’s announcement, SWISS’ Head of Brand Experience, Julia Hillenbrand, said,
“SWISS and After Seven share the same premium philosophy, and derive the same sheer pleasure from pampering their guests. We both attach huge importance to delivering the highest service quality. And I am delighted that, from today onwards, we can offer the culinary creations of this innovative Valais kitchen aboard our flights.”
Also commenting on the culinary collaboration, Chef Florian Neubauer added,
“For me, cooking and travel are closely connected. It’s my passion to discover the new and to play with ingredients from other countries. So I’m particularly pleased to have this opportunity to bring the varied tastes of Switzerland closer to SWISS’s inflight guests.”

Premium Economy Class guests on departure from Switzerland will also have the option of selecting a three-course meal featuring Canton Valais specialties.
Launched in 2002, SWISS’s award-winning ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ inflight culinary program has been inviting a new top chef from a selected Siss canton aboard every three months, to present and share Switzerland’s gastronomic diversity aloft. The meals are also accompanied by wine and cheese specialties from the featured region. To date, SWISS taste of Switzerland has welcomed 76 guest chefs representing each of Switzerland’s 26 cantons.
