SWISS has announced the appointment of Julia Wetter-Studinka as the carrier’s new Head of Regional Sales for Switzerland, succeeding Marco Willa, who has joined Lufthansa Group as Head of Onboard Experience.
On Friday (August 2, 2024), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced the appointment of Julia Wetter-Studinka as the carrier’s new Head of Regional Sales for Switzerland. Effective September 1st, 2024, Ms. Wetter-Studinka, who currently serves as SWISS’ Head of Corporate & YMC Key Account Management, will succeed Marco Willa, who will join Lufthansa Group as Head of Onboard Experience. In her new role, Wetter-Studinka will drive and promote commercial sales activities for all Lufthansa Group passenger airlines operating in Switzerland, and will report to Johannes Walter, Lufthansa Group’s VP – Area Management Home Markets, and to SWISS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Heike Birlenbach.
In Friday’s announcement, SWISS’ CCO, Heike Birlenbach, said,
“I am delighted that we have secured the services of Julia Wetter-Studinka for this position. Julia brings a broad portfolio of commercial expertise to the role, and has also been closely involved with the Swiss market in her present capacity. This makes her an ideal appointee to this demanding function, and I wish her every success in her new capacity. I would also like to thank Marco Willa for his outstanding work and all his dedication and commitment. And I look forward to continuing to work with him in the future, too.”
Ms. Wetter-Studinka joined Lufthansa Group in 2018 as a project manager in distribution and in commercial negotiations with the Global Distribution Systems (GDS). Following other roles in the commercial and product fields, she was appointed Head of Business Development for the Lufthansa Group’s Digital Hangar, where she helped develop the Group’s new digital unit. After a further assignment to a strategic corporate sales project for the Group in New York, Wetter-Studinka assumed her current position as SWISS’ Head of Corporate & TMC Key Account management, which she has held since April 2024. A native of Zurich, Julia Wetter-Studinka holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Governance from the University of St. Gallen, and is a Swiss and German dual national.
