On Tuesday (May 23, 2023), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced that they would further expand their offer for the winter 2023/24 season. The carrier will offer short and medium-haul services from Zurich and Geneva to 68 destinations, more than last winter. SWISS will also restore service between Zurich and Bremen, while expanding capacity to Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Prague and Bucharest. The restored service from Zurich to Bremen in Northern Germany will operate four times weekly. For SWISS’ Geneva-based network, the carrier will particularly offer an extensive range of services to London, Lisbon, Porto and Athens.

In Tuesday’s announcement, SWISS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Tamur Goudarzi Pour, said,

“We are pleased to be offering the many people who are currently showing such a strong desire to travel an even broader range of routes and services in our coming winter schedules. And, in doing so, to be continuing on our present path of steady and stable growth.”

For the winter 2023/season, SWISS aims to reduce the number of wet-lease flights, with the goal of halving the number of flights operated on behalf of the airline by airBaltic and Helvetic airways.

Other SWISS destinations from Zurich that will enjoy increased frequencies for winter include Berlin (52 weekly flights), Barcelona (28 weekly flights), Amsterdam (28 weekly flights), and Athens (19 weekly flights). The carrier will also focus on service to Portugal with 14 weekly flights from Zurich to Lisbon, and up to 11 weekly flights to Porto. The resumed Zurich-Vienna route will operate three times daily, with sister carrier Austrian Airlines also operating multiple daily flights on the route.

SWISS’ Geneva network will offer 21 short and medium-haul destinations with an especially wide range of flights to London, Lisbon, Porto and Athens. The Geneva-Hamburg route introduced this summer will also be extended for the winter season with four weekly frequencies. SWISS will also offer attractive schedules to Geneva from the UK and Scandinavia for the convenience of winter sports guests.
