SWISS Celebrates Christmas with ‘LXmas dalla Nonna’ Social Media Campaign

SWISS is taking off into Advent with a new social media campaign, ‘LXmas dalla Nonna, which features two grandmothers, one from Switzerland and one from Italy.

On Thursday (November 27, 2025), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), announced the launch of a new social media campaign for the holiday season.  ‘LXmas dalla Nonna’ spotlights two grandmothers, one from Switzerland and one from Italy, and shows just how much they have in common, both sharing kindness and warmth, a love of life’s good things and a strong sense of community.  The campaign also highlights the cultural commonalities that bind Switzerland and neighboring Italy, with a particular focus on their Christmas traditions.  The centerpiece of the campaign is a competition designed to unite families in and outside Switzerland.  Anyone can enter via SWISS’ social media channels, and the lucky winners will be able to invite family members to Switzerland to spend the festive season together.


In Thursday’s announcement, SWISS’ Head of Marketing, Stefan Vasic, said,


“We’re showing with our new campaign how travel creates connections between cultures and generations.  When two grandmothers from two different countries embody the same sense of welcome and warmth, it reminds us why we fly: because it’s when we see each other face to face that we truly connect.”

 

SWISS is marking the launch of ‘LXmas dalla Nonna’ in partnership with Switzerland Tourism at Rome’s famous La Rinascente department store.  The seasonally decorated windows and lighting give the building a festive feeling that brings the ‘LXmas dalla Nonna’ campaign to life. The accompanying social media campaign will run throughout December on SWISS’s digital channels.  On December 17th, the winners of the grand ‘LXmas’ competition will be announced, and others will be invited to a special SWISS Christmas Night.


Additionally, SWISS will be creating a festive mood onboard their aircraft.  On their Zurich-Naples flight on December 5th, St. Nicholas, a Swiss grossmutter and an Italian nonna will all ensure some seasonal moments above the clouds.  The ‘SWISS AirDeer’ will also be flying high again, with an Airbus A330 (HB-JHC) and an Airbus A320neo (HB-JDH) both sporting red noses to carry the Christmas magic across the globe.
