Sun Country Names Stephen Coley EVP and Head of Operations, and D. Torque Zubeck as SVP and CFO

Sun Country Airlines has today announced two key leadership appointments. Stephen Coley has been named Senior Vice President and Head of Operations, and D. Torque Zubeck has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

On Wednesday (August 13, 2025), Sun Country Airlines announced the appointment of Stephen Coley as EVP and Head of Operations, effective immediately. Mr. Coley has served as Interim Head of Operations since late April 2025. He joined Sun Country as Vice President of Tech Ops in January 2025, and has since prioritized the culture of safety, appointed a new Tech Ops leadership team, led operational changes to improve maintenance reliability, and played a key role in inducting eight new Amazon freighters.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Sun Country’s President and CEO, Jude Bricker, said,
“Steve will help lead Sun Country’s operations in our increased cargo flying in 2025 along with our expected passenger service growth. Most important, Steve is a strong leader and has created great working relationships with his team members and Sun Country’s leadership team.”
Before joining Sun Country, Stephen Coley served as Director of Base Maintenance for United Airlines, a role he held since 2023. Prior to joining United, he worked for HAECO Americas and held role with TIMCO Aviation Services from 2005 to 2012. Mr. Coley started his aviation career his career as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician, having received his A&P license from Guilford Technical Community College. He has over 22 years of operational and aviation industry experience.

Additionally, Sun Country has named D. Torque Zubeck, formerly a Managing Director with Alaska Airlines, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Mr. Zubeck brings over 30 years of finance expertise to Sun Country, including more than 22 years of airline leadership roles. Between 2021 and 2023 he served as Chief Financial Officer of Mesa Airlines from 2021 to 2023, following 20 years at Alaska Airlines, he held a variety of roles, including Managing Director of Finance, Audit, Cargo Operations, and Commercial Partnerships. He also led the successful integration of Virgin America into Alaska Airlines. Torque Zubeck earned his bachelor’s degree at Stanford University and MBA at Eastern Michigan University.
Also commenting on Mr. Zubeck’s appointment as SVP and Chief Financial Officer, Sun Country’s President and CEO, Jude Bricker, said,
“We’re excited that Torque has agreed to join Sun Country, bringing his extensive experience in finance, commercial, and operational leadership from both Alaska Airlines and Mesa Airlines. I’m confident he will be a great addition to the team.”
Bill Trousdale, who served as the airline's Interim Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will continue as Sun Country’s Vice President of FP&A and Treasurer. Mr. Trousdale has been with Sun Country for nearly eight years.
