Sun Country Airlines to Launch New Florida Service From Minneapolis and Wisconsin for Spring 2023

Sun Country Airlines has extended their schedule through spring 2023 and will launch new service from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida, as well as from Eau Claire, Green Bay and Madison to Orlando.

On Thursday (September 1, 2022), Sun Country Airlines announced an extension of their flight schedule through spring 2023. From April 12, 2023, the carrier will also launch new service from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS), the carrier’s 11th nonstop destination in Florida from the twin cities. Starting April 21, 2023, Sun Country will also start new nonstop service between Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (EAU), in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Orlando (MCO), with two weekly flights on Fridays and Mondays. Additionally, the carrier will start twice weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays from both Madison and Green Bay (Wisconsin) and Orlando starting April 20, 2022.


Speaking on the new route between MSP and Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Sun Country’s Chief Revenue Officer, Grant Whitney, said,


“We are excited to provide new service to northwest Florida. Sun Country offers the most nonstop Florida destinations from MSP, and we are confident that Minnesotans and Midwest vacationers will love the white sand beaches that have made the Florida Panhandle famous.”


Also commenting on Sun Country’s new service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa, Florida County Commission Chairman, Mel Ponder, added,


“This partnership is so meaningful for Okaloosa County. Not only will destinations like Minneapolis/St. Paul become more accessible to residents, visitors can book spring travel now to experience our white sandy beaches and attractions throughout the County which make Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida a premier destination.”
