STARLUX Airlines to Launch New Service to Okinawa, Sapporo and Da Nang From October 28, 2022

STARLUX will launch new service to Okinawa and Sapporo in Japan, as well as to Da Nang, Vietnam from October 28, 2022. The new routes to Japan complement existing service to Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka.

On Monday (September 12, 2022), STARLUX Airlines announced the launch of new routes to Okinawa and Sapporo in Japan and Danang, Vietnam from October 28, 2022. The added services to Japan complement existing routes to Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka. Japan is a very popular tourist destination for Taiwanese tourists, and Okinawa is the closest Japanese prefecture to Taiwan, with a flight time of approximately 70 minutes. Visitors to Okinawa can enjoy numerous attractions such as the Namijo Shrine, Kouri Island, Kokusai Street, Yuquan Cave, the Island Aquarium, the American Village and more. Tourists can also enjoy island hopping to nearby Miyako Island and Ishigaki Island.
Sapporo is a popular winter destination and the largest city on Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost main island. Having been developed only around 150 years ago, Hokkaido is relatively young in terms of Japanese history, and features many Western-style buildings. Some of the most famous attractions include to former Hokkaido government office building, The Sapporo Clock Tower, the Hokkaido Shrine and the Sapporo TV Tower. Winter visitors will also enjoy the beautiful ice and snow sculptures. Da Nang is known as the ‘Oriental Hawaii’ offering famous beaches set against the majestic Truong Son mountains, as well as the scenic seaside Son Tra Peninsula. Da Nang is the commercial and educational center of Central Vietnam, and also the largest city in the region.
Launched in 2020, STARLUX currently operates seven 188-seat Airbus A321neos and three 297-seat Airbus A330neos. The carrier will receive another A330neo and two Airbus A350XWBs by the end of 2022. The airline’s main hub is located at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, located about 25 miles west of Taipei. STARLUX Airlines currently offers service to Macau, Penang, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila, among others.
STARLUX guests enjoy a carefully curated inflight experience including a playful animated 3D safety video, specially designed seats, an exclusive cabin fragrance and boarding music by renowned jazz artist Peter White. The airline has designed the entire flight experience to satisfy the five senses of each passenger. Flights on departure from Taiwan feature Business Class meals prepared by the Michelin-starred Chef Lam Ming Kin of Taiwanese restaurant Longtail, while Economy Class guests enjoy a menu created by the renowned Japanese-Style restaurant Hutong in Taiwan.
