Spirit Airlines to Launch New Direct Service Between Fort Lauderdale and Key West

Starting November 6, 2025, Spirit Airlines will launch new, exclusive nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Key West, the Southernmost point in the U.S.   The route will initially operate four times weekly, increasing to daily service from December 18th.

On Tuesday (July 22, 2025), Spirit Airlines announced the launch of exclusive new nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Key West International Airport (EYW).  The new routes will operate four times per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sunday, and will increase to daily flights starting Dec. 18, 2025.  Guests traveling between Key West (EYW) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) can take advantage of special introductory one-way fares from fares starting at $79 (T&Cs apply).  Inbound customers to FLL, Spirit’s largest airport, will also enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity across the carrier’s extensive network.  Key West will become Spirit’s eighth destination in the Sunshine State, joining Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Fort Myers (RSW), Miami (MIA), Orlando (MCO), Pensacola (PNS), Tampa (TPA) and West Palm Beach (PBI).


In Tuesdays’ announcement, Spirit Airlines’ VP – Network Planning, John Kirby, said,


“Key West is a one-of-a-kind beach destination, and now travelers can easily access this island paradise and enjoy Spirit’s elevated Guest experience along the way.  Our new service offers a convenient and affordable alternative to driving and gives our Guests in the Florida Keys a new way to coast through South Florida in style.”


Also commenting on Spirit’s new service, Key West International Airport’s Executive Director of Airports, Richard Strickland, added,


“Spirit Airlines entering the Key West market this November is fantastic news for our passengers near and far.  We welcome this addition to our selection of carriers and greatly anticipate access to Spirit's expansive network of destinations.”
