On Tuesday (June 24, 2025), Spirit Airlines announced the rollout of new booking option names.  Guests seeking an elevated travel experience can now select Spirit First or Premium Economy, while those seeking the most economical option can book Spirit Value.  The newly named travel options are now available for booking on the Spirit website and mobile app.  The new Spirit First, formerly Go Big, features a Big Front Seat®, a free carry-on and first checked bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Check-In and Boarding, reserved overhead bin space, complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, and streaming access to fast Wi-Fi.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Spirit Airlines’ SVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Rana Ghosh, said,

“We’re simplifying choices so travelers can better understand and compare their options and the exceptional value that Spirit provides.  Our Big Front Seat has been one of the best kept secrets, and these updates will bring more travelers in the know that Spirit offers one of the industry’s most affordable options for a premium experience.”

Spirit’s new Premium Economy, formerly Go Comfy, allows customers to stretch out with more space in a Premium Seat with extra legroom, or a blocked middle seat and includes one carry-on bag, no change or cancel fees, Priority Boarding and reserved overhead bin space.  Spirit is installing extra-legroom Premium seats across their fleet, which offer four additional inches of legroom.  Located near the front of the aircraft, the extra-legroom seating consists of seven rows and 40 seats.  These seats will be available for travel starting July 9, 2025.  Spirit plans on phasing out the blocked middle seat option to allow for the introduction of Premium Economy.

Spirit’s new Value product, formerly Go, maximizes affordability and flexibility, allowing travelers to select only the extras they need.  Seat selection, one carry-on bag, checked bags and other ancillaries can be purchased separately.
