Spirit Airlines Launches New Service at Middle Georgia Regional Airport in Macon

Starting October 16, 2025, Spirit Airlines will launch new service from Middle Georgia Regional airport in Macon, Georgia to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. One-way fares are now bookable from $49 (T&Cs apply).

On Thursday (July 17, 2025), Spirit Airlines announced the launch of new nonstop service between Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN) in Macon, Georgia, and Fort Lauderdale -Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in Florida. This is part of the carrier’s new strategic partnership with Contour Airlines. Starting October 16, 2025, the route will operate twice weekly with one-way fares from $49 (T&Cs apply). Inbound guests to Fort Lauderdale will also enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity to destinations across the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.
In Thursday’s announcement, Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning, John Kirby, said,
“We look forward to offering travelers in Middle Georgia new non-stop flights and affordable fares to our FLL gateway, expanding their travel options to the Sunshine State and other destinations. We’re grateful to Contour for their partnership and collaboration as we work to create exciting new connections between communities across our networks.”
Also commenting on Spirit’s Macon debut, Macon-Bibb County’s Director of Aviation, Doug Faour, said,
“South Florida has consistently been one of the most popular destinations for travelers in our region, and we’re excited to offer nonstop service to this top destination through Spirit Airlines. This new route reflects our ongoing commitment to providing convenient and affordable travel options for the communities we serve.”
Contour Airlines’ President, Ben Munson, added,
“We are excited to partner with Spirit in their introduction of service to Macon. Spirit’s nonstop and low fare service to Florida will perfectly complement our existing flights in Macon and provide new value to travelers.”
Macon becomes the first market announced as part of Spirit’s strategic partnership with Contour Airlines, which will increase connectivity, while bringing affordable travel options to underserved communities across the country. Middle Georgia Regional Airport will become Spirit's third destination in Georgia, complementing existing service to Atlanta (ATL) and service to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), which will start on August 14, 2025.
