Southwest Airlines Introduces Getaways by Southwest, a New Packaged Vacation Product

Southwest Airlines has today announced the launch of Getaways by Southwest, an in-house packaged vacation product, offering signature flexibility and enhanced customer benefits.

On Tuesday (August 19, 2025), Southwest Airlines announced the introduction of ‘Getaways by Southwest’, a new in-house packaged vacation product that features signature flexibility and enhanced traveler benefits. Customers booking Getaways by Southwest vacations will be able to check two bags for free and earn five Rapid Rewards points per dollar spent on bookings. Customers can also cancel their packages and receive vacation travel credits, valid for 18 months, that can be applied toward a future Getaway. Additionally, they have the flexibility to make changes to their Getaway package without paying a change fee. (T&Cs apply).
In Tuesday’s announcement, Southwest Airlines’ VP – Product Development, Phil Gouel, said,
“Getaways by Southwest expands what Customers love about Southwest—flexibility, an award-winning Rapid Rewards® loyalty program, and great perks—to the vacation experience. This end-to-end vacation package, coupled with our legendary Customer Service, is perfect for Customers seeking a convenient, valuable, and curated vacation experience.”
Getaways by Southwest offers bundled packages including air, hotel, car, and ground transportation options for customers to travel to the places they love, such as Las Vegas, Orlando, Hawaii, Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay.
