SkyWest Places Firm Order for 60 Embraer E175 Aircraft

Embraer has announced that SkyWest has signed a firm order for 60 E175 aircraft, and secured purchase rights for 50 more. The deal is valued at $3.6 billion at list prices and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.

On Wednesday (June 18, 2025), from the Paris Air Show 2025, Embraer announced that SkyWest has placed a firm order for 60 E175 jets, while securing purchase rights for 50 more. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, and the order will be included in Embraer’s Q2 2025 backlog. This order is values at US $3.6 billion at list prices. SkyWest Airlines is the largest E-Jet owner in the world, with a fleet of 263 aircraft, and an existing backlog of 16 aircraft.
In Thursday’s announcement, SkyWest’s President and CEO, Chip Childs, said,
“As the largest E175 owner and operator worldwide, we’re pleased to continue growing our E175 fleet and enhance our dual-class footprint. This order enables us to advance our long-term fleet strategy and to continue to deliver the premier regional product in the industry.”
Also commenting on the new aircraft order, Embraer Commercial Aviation’s President and CEO, Arjan Meijer, added,
“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with SkyWest Airlines with this mega order. The E175 is the cornerstone of regional aviation in North America, and this order underscores SkyWest's confidence in our aircraft's performance, reliability, and passenger comfort. We look forward to supporting SkyWest's growth and success in the years to come.”
Embraer and SkyWest’s relationship dates back nearly 40 years, starting in 1986 when the carrier acquired five Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia aircraft. By the end of 1997 SkyWest was operating over 40 EMB-120 Brasilia aircraft. In 2013, the carrier renewed their longstanding partnership with Embraer, by ordering 100 E175s.
