SkyTeam Announces the Appointment of Cate Leigh as New Vice President of Corporate Affairs

SkyTeam has today announced the appointment of Cate Leigh as VP - Corporate Affairs. In her new role, Ms. Leigh will lead corporate and governance functions, legal, finance, human resources, data management and analytics, and member compliance.

On Wednesday (April 15, 2026), SkyTeam announced the appointment of Cate Leigh as Vice President, Corporate Affairs. In her new role, Ms. Leigh will lead the alliance’s corporate and governance functions, overseeing legal, finance, human resources, data management and analytics, and member compliance, to ensure strong alignment between member airlines and the long-term value of the alliance. Cate Leigh joins SkyTeam from Virgin Atlantic, where she spent over 25 years in a range of commercial leadership roles, most recently as Head of Alliances and Partnerships. At Virgin Atlantic, she was responsible for the airline’s global partnership portfolio, including its entry into SkyTeam, the Blue Skies Joint Venture with Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM, and an extensive network of codeshare and interline agreements.
In Wednesday’s announcement, SkyTeam’s CEO, Patrick Roux, said,

Her deep expertise in alliances, partnerships and airline strategy, combined with her strong governance experience, will be instrumental as SkyTeam continues to evolve to better serve our members. Cate’s leadership will help strengthen collaboration and ensure we are well positioned for the future.”
Also commenting on her new role as SkyTeam’s VP – Corporate Affairs, Cate Leigh, said,

In her new position, Cate Leigh will strengthen SkyTeam’s corporate framework and governance model, working closely with member airlines to ensure compliance with alliance requirements, enhance collaboration and drive sustainable value for members and stakeholders.
