Singapore Airlines launched their highly-anticipated new aircraft cabin products on Tuesday, which will be rolled out on the carrier’s Boeing 737-8 fleet in the coming weeks. All of SIA’s 737-8s will be configured with 10 Business Class and 144 Economy Class seats.
On Tuesday (November 16, 2021), Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced the unveiling of their all-new narrowbody aircraft cabin product, which will be rolled out on their Boeing 737-8 fleet in the coming weeks. All of SIA’s 737-8s will be configured with 154 seats in two classes, including 10 Business Class and 144 Economy Class seats. The new cabin has been designed to elevate the narrowbody guest experience to a level similar to the carrier’s widebody aircraft, thereby offering a consistent experience across the Singapore Airlines network. The company has invested around $230 million on the development, design and installation of the new industry-leading narrowbody cabin product.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Singapore Airlines’ Executive Vice President, Commercial, Mr. Lee Lik Hsin, said,
This is the culmination of three years of innovation and hard work, involving extensive customer research and close partnerships with designers and suppliers. As a result, we can now offer customers a premium travel experience across our entire full-service network, no matter how long or short their journey. This significant investment demonstrates Singapore Airlines’ commitment to maintaining our leadership position in the airline industry. As air travel recovers, our customers can continue to enjoy world-class products and award-winning service across our fleets.”
SIA’s new 737-8 lie-flat Business Class seats were designed by London-based Factorydesign and manufactured for Singapore Airlines by Thompson Aero Seating. The Economy Class cabin features the latest generation sleek slim-line seats from Collins Aerospace. The new cabin features bespoke elements and has been designed with a special focus on ergonomics and connectivity. The aircraft feature Panasonic’s X-series seat-back IFE system, allowing guests to enjoy the latest KrisWorld entertainment content. The fleet will also be configured with Panasonic’s inflight Wi-Fi service, as well as mobile data connectivity.
Singapore Airlines’ 737-8s will progressively enter service on short and medium-haul flights across the airline’s network in the coming weeks, including service to points in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Nepal and Thailand.
