On Thursday (November 19, 2020), Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), the national carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed a special aircraft livery designed to welcome virtual G20 Summit participants. The virtual G20 will be held in Riyadh from November 21-22nd, 2020. The livery is featured on the airline’s Airbus A320, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and 777-300ER aircraft and marks the nation’s G20 Presidency. The custom design and application of the delivery was accomplished by Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI), a subsidiary of the carrier. The theme for this year’s G20 summit is “Realizing Opportunities of the 21st Century for All.”

In Thursday’s announcement, Saudi Arabian Airlines Director General, His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman, said,

“Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier is committed to being a global air partner in connecting and strengthening economies and industries; seamlessly connecting travelers across borders; and bolstering logistics and supply chain capabilities.”

This year’s G20 Summit coincides with SAUDIA’s 75th anniversary - the carrier is one of the first airlines established in the Middle East region. Over the last few years, SAUDIA has invested heavily in their fleet modernization program with the acquisition of new state-of-the art aircraft, resulting in one of the three youngest fleets in the air, with an average age of five years. Award-winning Saudi Arabian Airlines is one of the Middle East’s largest carriers, operating a modern fleet of 144 narrow and widebody aircraft. SAUDIA serves over 95 destinations across four continents as well as all 28 domestic airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
