On Wednesday (June 25, 2025), SAS announced the launch of new year-round nonstop service between Copenhagen and Mumbai, marking the carrier’s return to India after a 17 year hiatus. Starting June 2, 2026, the route will operate five times weekly with an Airbus A330. Flight times have been designed to to support seamless connectivity to/from major destinations in Scandinavia, Europe, and North America, including New York, Boston, and Toronto, offering very good connecting times for travelers heading to or from India.
In Wednesday’s announcement, SAS’ President and CEO, Anko van der Werff, said,
“India is a key global market — both in terms of growing demand and economic importance. With this new route, SAS contributes to strengthening Copenhagen’s role as a global hub while supporting increased connectivity between India and Northern Europe, as well as between India and North America. Mumbai is a natural next step in our strategy to link Scandinavia with one of the world’s most important regions for business and leisure travel.”
SAS Flight SK969 will depart Copenhagen (CPH) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 13:10, arriving in Mumbai (BOM) at 01:30+1. The return flight, SK970, departs Mumbai on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturday and Sundays at 06:00, and touches down back in Copenhagen at 11:45.
