SAS has today announced the launch of their first-ever nonstop flight between Scandinavia and South Korea, with the departure of their inaugural service from Copenhagen to Seoul.

On Friday (September 12, 2025), SAS announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Copenhagen and Seoul, marking the first-ever nonstop service between Scandinavia and South Korea. The route will now operate four times weekly during fall, and three times weekly for the winter 2025/26 season. Based on strong demand, SAS has already increased capacity on the route by 50 percent for next summer, with up to six weekly flights from June 2026. The new route will be operated with an Airbus A350, with the capacity for approximately 300 passengers.
In Friday’s announcement, SAS’ President & CEO, Anko van der Werff, said,
“This is an exciting day for SAS and our passengers. With our inaugural flight to Seoul, we are not only responding to strong customer demand but also strengthening the ties between Scandinavia and one of Asia’s most vibrant hubs. Seoul is a global center of culture, innovation, and business, and we are proud to add it to our growing intercontinental network.”
Including the new service to Seoul, SAS now offers 14 intercontinental destinations from Copenhagen, connecting travelers to more than 100 destinations across Europe. Seoul’s Incheon International Airport (ICN) is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world, handling 70 million passengers and nearly 3 million tons of freight in 2024.
