SAS Launches Inaugural Flight Between Copenhagen and Atlanta

SAS has added their ninth North American destination with the launch of new direct daily service between Copenhagen and Atlanta, which takes flight today.

On Monday (June 17, 2024), SAS announced the launch of new daily service between Copenhagen and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) in Atlanta, Georgia.  Flights will depart Copenhagen at 13:10 and arrive in Atlanta at 17:10, while the return flight departs Atlanta at 19:00 and arrives in Copenhagen at 10:20+1 (all times local).  The route will be operated with a combination of Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft, both configured with SAS Business, SAS Plus and SAS Go cabins.


In Monday’s announcement, SAS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen, said,


“SAS is excited to expand its offerings for both business and leisure travelers. Leisure travelers can look forward to exploring Atlanta and several new destinations across the USA, all conveniently accessible from Atlanta. For business travelers, Atlanta serves as a significant hub, home to numerous Fortune 500 companies, making it a lucrative and essential destination.”


Also commenting on SAS’ new Atlanta service, Delta Air Lines’ EVP & President – International, Alain Bellemare, added,


“Working closely with SAS will further strengthen Delta’s presence in Northern Europe by offering our customers improved access to destinations.  Our bilateral agreement is integral to our long-term strategy to better connect Delta customers around the world and SAS’ new nonstop service between Atlanta and Copenhagen, one of their primary European hubs, is a strong start in building our future cooperation.”
