On Friday (February 9, 2024), SAS announced that they have signed a three-year contract extension with Norwegian energy company Equinor.  The contract encompasses both domestic and international travel and represents a substantial contribution to SAS’ passenger volume in Norway.  SAS was selected based on their extensive network, attractive timetable, commercial terms, and one of Europe’s most modern fleets.

In Friday’s announcement, SAS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen, said,

“We are delighted that Equinor once again have chosen SAS as their preferred carrier for business travel, demonstrating a continued confidence in us for the next three years.  SAS' strategic priorities to retain and further strengthen our position in the Scandinavian travel market is founded on a good cooperation with the largest companies in Norway and the longstanding collaboration with Equinor remains very important to SAS.”

SAS is the leading airline in Scandinavia, with main hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, and flying to destinations in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.  The company aims to be a driving force in sustainable aviation and in the transition towards net zero emissions.  SAS also offers ground handling services, technical maintenance and air cargo services.  Additionally, the carrier is a founding member of the Star Alliance, and together with partner airlines offers an extensive worldwide network.
