Royal Jordanian Board of Directors Elects Samer Majali as New President and Chief Executive Officer

In a session held on March 30, 2021, the Royal Jordanian Board of Directors elected Samer Majali as the airline’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. Majali previously served as Royal Jordanian’s President & CEO from 2001 through 2009.

On Wednesday (March 31, 2021), Royal Jordanian announced that during a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors on March 30, 2021, Samer Majali was elected President and Chief Executive Officer. Samer Majali is an expert in civil aviation and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. Most recently, he founded Plane Vision, a Bahrain-based Corporate Strategy & Advisory firm. From 2013 through 2019, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of SaudiGulf Airlines and was the CEO of Gulf Air for three years from 2009.

Samer Majali has been an active member of various international aviation and business organizations, including service on IATA’s Board of Governors, as well as the Board of the Central Bank of Jordan. Majali originally joined Royal Jordanian in 1979 and his illustrious career at the airline included top executive positions across flights operations, corporate planning, information technology, passenger services, engineering and maintenance. From 2001 through 2009, he previously served as Royal Jordanian’s President and CEO. Majali holds a M.Sc. degree in Air Transport Management from Cranfield Institute of Technology in the UK, as well as a B.Sc. degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Design from Loughborough University of Technology, UK.
