Royal Air Maroc has placed a repeat order for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, confirming two 787-9s in their orderbook. This order was previously listed as unidentified on Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website.
On Monday (November 13, 2023) from the Dubai Airshow 2023, Boeing announced that Royal Air Maroc has confirmed and order for two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, which was previously listed on the Boeing Orders and Deliveries website as unidentified. Over the last nine years, Royal Air Maroc has modernized their long-haul fleet with a mix of Boeing 787-8s and 787-9s. The airline is the national flag carrier of Morocco and a member of the oneworld global alliance. Royal Air Maroc currently offers service to 82 destinations in 41 countries and territories worldwide, including frequent departures to the biggest capitals in Europe, Africa, North America and the Middle East. In addition to their 787s, the airline also operates a fleet of Boeing 737s.
In today’s announcement, Royal Air Maroc’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Abdelhamid Addou, said,
“The two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will enable Royal Air Maroc to expand in the short-term its long-haul network in response to the highly favorable market conditions in 2023. Simultaneously, the company is actively pursuing a significant tender to quadruple the fleet before 2037.”
Also commenting on Royal Air Maroc’s 787-9 order, Boeing’s SVP – Commercial Sales & Marketing, Brad McMullen, said,
“The 787 Dreamliner is perfectly suited to support Royal Air Maroc's growth and modernization plans. Boeing's relationship with the airline spans more than five decades, and we look forward to more opportunities to strengthen our partnership with Royal Air Maroc.”
