On Tuesday (September 3, 2024), Riyadh Air announced the graduation of their first class of 32 cabin crew members. The graduation ceremony was held at the Riyadh Marriott hotel, and marks a major milestone as the new carrier prepares to take flight in 2025. The new cabin crew members went through a comprehensive training program covering essential areas, including first aid and safety measures, security procedures, and more. Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new world-class airline, plans on connecting travelers to over 100 destinations by 2030, marking a new era of growth for the Kingdom’s aviation sector.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Riyadh Air’s Chief Operating Officer, Peter Bellew, said,
“We’re incredibly proud of the dedication demonstrated by the ladies and gentlemen who have taken the first steps toward becoming integral members of our world-class airline. As the primary point of contact for our passengers, cabin crew play a crucial role in delivering exceptional hospitality and service. The training course they’ve completed has equipped these talented individuals with the tools to fulfill our promise of a world-class experience, which will become Riyadh Air’s hallmark when we take to the skies.”
Riyadh Air’s first 32 cabin crew graduates were initially selected from a pool of over 150,000 applicants, and represent the first group of many thousands of new crewmembers that will join the carrier in the coming years.
Launching in 2025, Riyadh Air expects to make a significant contribution to Saudi Vision 2030 by attracting over 100 million visitors to the Kingdom, increasing the aviation sector’s GDP contribution by more than 10 percent by the end of the decade, and creating over 200,000 direct and indirect local and global jobs.
