Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Riyadh for First Time Since 2017

The airline will operate daily service to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on widebody aircraft including Airbus A350s, Boeing 777-300s and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and will also resume service to Jeddah and Dammam later this week.

Today (January 11, 2021), Qatar Airways announced the resumption of service to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the first time since 2017. Flight QR1164 from Hamad International Airport in Doha took off at 13:15 today and landed at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 15:10. The inaugural flight was operated with an Airbus A350-1000 and the carrier will now offer daily widebody service to Riyadh which will be serviced with Airbus A350s as well as Boeing 777-300s and 787-8s. On Thursday (January 14th), Qatar Airways will resume service to Jeddah with flight QR1188 departing Doha at 18:50. Flights to Dammam will also be restarted on Saturday January 16th, with flight QR1150 departing Doha at 17:10.

The airline plans on increasing their offer to 125 destinations by the end of March 2021. Additionally, Qatar Airways is the only carrier to have ever received the prestigious “Skytrax Airline of the Year” title five times. Qatar Airways normally serves over 170 global destinations with a fleet of more than 250 modern aircraft. The airline’s primary hub is located at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
