Qatar Airways has partnered with gategroup, with the goal of setting a new benchmark in the onboard dining experience, with a focus on quality, sustainability and healthy eating.
On Monday (February 12, 2024), Qatar Airways announced the launch of a new partnership with gategroup to elevate the carrier’s onboard dining experience. The new Business Management Agreement will see collaboration on passenger dining experiences, sourcing and procurement, healthy eating, and sustainability. The award-winning airline’s commitment to global aviation excellence will now be reinforced with gategroup’s expertise in menu design, culinary concepts and operational experience. The partnership will elevate Qatar Airways’ brand by delivering a refined culinary experience for guests, both onboard and in their world class lounges at Hamad International Airport.
In Monday’s announcement, Qatar Airways’ Group’s CEO, Engr, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said,
“This partnership with gategroup will amplify the Qatar Airways brand by delivering refined culinary experiences for our guests, inflight and on the ground in our world class lounges at Hamad International Airport.”
Also commenting on the new catering partnership, gategroup’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Christoph Schmitz, said,

It is a journey of discovery, growth, and immense potential, and we firmly believe in the transformative power of collaboration, where two companies come together with shared visions and values to craft something truly outstanding.”
The culinary team from gategroup will be based in Doha, and will contribute to the establishment of a dedicated culinary studio for Qatar Airways, which will facilitate innovation, collaboration and efficient menu design. The new menu range will focus on high quality ingredients and health & nutrition, with the incorporation of local sustainably sourced produce, in support of local businesses.
