Qatar Airways has launched new service between Doha and Lyon in France. The route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
On Monday (July 3, 2023), Qatar Airways announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Doha and Lyon, France. The route will now operate four times per week with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner configured with 22 Business Class seats and 232 Economy Class seats. The inaugural flight was celebrated in both Premium and Economy Class cabins, where guests were welcomed with traditional French delicacies, along with a curated menu featuring premium French cuisine. Lyon becomes the carrier’s third destination in France, complementing existing service to Paris and Nice.
In today’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,

Also commenting on the new Doha-Lyon service, Aéroports de Lyon’s Chairman of the Management Board, Tanguy Bertolus, added,
“This new international destination from Lyon illustrates VINCI Airports' know-how in the development of new routes, and demonstrates the quality of its relations with various airlines. This connection between the capital of Qatar and Lyon will further strengthen the appeal of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, as well as the Lyon metropolitan area by offering more options to and from the Middle East and Asia, particularly in Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.”
