Qatar Airways has launched a new codeshare partnership with Aer Lingus that will provide customers with greater access to more destinations across the UK and Ireland. Inbound customers to Doha will also enjoy seamless connections to destinations worldwide.
On Wednesday (March 13, 2024), Qatar Airways announced the launch of a new codeshare partnership with Aer Lingus. The agreement will provide customers with grater access to more destinations across the UK and Ireland, while inbound customers to Doha will enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity with Qatar Airways to destinations across Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Qatar Airways will add their marketing code to flights operated by Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus regional. Once implemented, the carrier will have codeshare coverage with all IAG airlines, including British Airways, Iberia, Vueling and Aer Lingus.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, said,
“Our new codeshare partnership with Aer Lingus demonstrates Qatar Airways’ commitment to its customers, who will benefit from a wider choice of global destinations. The move also builds on our long-term strategic relationship with IAG as we expand our codeshare coverage even further. It is an exciting opportunity to extend our exceptional service to even more travellers through this partnership.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, Aer Lingus’ Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Reid Moody, added,
“We’re pleased to launch our new codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways, offering their customers a great choice of routes and destinations on Aer Lingus’ extensive network of flights across the UK and Ireland. Customers can expect a warm welcome and friendly service and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”
Under the new codeshare, customers will enjoy connections between Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus flights through Dublin, London and Manchester. Additionally, customers will be able to travel between Irish and UK destinations, including Aberdeen, Belfast, Cork, and Glasgow, through Qatar Airways’ extensive global network via Doha.
Founded in 1936, Aer Lingus is the flag carrier of Ireland. The carrier operates over 100 routes from Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Knock to Europe, the UK and North America. In 2024, Aer Lingus will operate 19 transatlantic routes from Dublin and Shannon, plus three transatlantic routes from Manchester to North America and the Caribbean.
